The sun may still be shining but that didn’t put Santas off training for a winter run.

Despite the scorching summer temperatures, Father Christmas’ at Rainbows donned their trainers as they prepared to take on a Santa Run.

Katie Baxter, events and community manager at Rainbows Hospice for Children and Young People, said: “People might have thought they were seeing things when they spotted our Santas training for the festive event. But we want our Santa Runs this year to be bigger and better than before and are encouraging people to register their interest.

“Our Santa Runs not only raises vital funds for the hospice, it is also great fun for everyone who takes part and people can either run or walk the route.”

The Santa Runs take place in Nottingham, Derby and Loughbrough.
