Run, Rosemary, Run!

A Chester Green Great-Grandmother is lacing up her trainers to take on our Bubble Rush event with 19 members of her family.

For 74-year-old Rosemary Wright, who has run the London Marathon nine times as well as the Edinburgh Marathon and the Great North Run, our Derby Bubble Rush will be a walk in the park.

She said: “I took up running when I was 48 but I have slowed up now and just do 10ks. I did the event last year and I enjoyed it so much, we have all decided to take part. I will always support Rainbows when I can. Rainbows is a wonderful cause and it is nice to be able to help the children.”

On Saturday 8 July, Rosemary will take on our event with 19 family members including her three daughters, four granddaughters, two grandsons and two great grandsons.

Rosemary added: “I hope as many people as possible will sign up to this event. You can just go round and really enjoy yourself.

Victoria Brunt, Events Coordinator at Rainbows, added: “We are so happy to have Rosemary and her family on board. And on behalf of all of the children, young people and families who use Rainbows, I thank them for their incredible efforts.”

The route is wheelchair, pushchair and child friendly. There will be live entertainment throughout the day. Entry is £25 for over 16s, £7.50 for under 16s and under 3s go free.
