Rainbows Hospice wins £1,000 Movement for Good Award
Thanks to public nominations, Rainbows has won £1,000 from Benefact Group.
Our charity was selected to receive the donation as part of Benefact Group’s Movement for Good Awards – which is giving over £1million to charities – after members of the public were invited to nominate causes close to their hearts.
Helen Graham, Rainbows Trusts and Foundations Fundraiser, said the donation would help us to provide invaluable care to over 300 families. She said: “We manage symptoms to improve the quality of life for children and young people living with life-limiting and life-threatening conditions, or who are at the end of their lives.
“Our aim is to provide that expert medical and nursing care, including the management of distressing symptoms throughout a child or young person’s life. This funding will help us to do that.
“Many of the children and young people supported by Rainbows have very complex symptoms which change over the course of their life. We work in close partnership with other health professionals to ensure each child or young person gets the best care we can give.
“We couldn’t deliver our essential services without our supporters, and we would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone who voted for us and for keeping Rainbows in your hearts and minds. We would also like to thank Benefact Group for enabling charities, like ours, to benefit from these donations.”
Mark Hews, Group Chief Executive of Benefact Group, added: “We would like to thank every single person who took the time to nominate a good cause as part of our Movement for Good Awards.
“Benefact Group is the fourth largest corporate donor in the UK and has an ambition to be the biggest. Owned by a charity, all of its available profits go to good causes, and the more the group grows, the more the group can give. As a company whose purpose is to contribute to the greater good of society, charitable giving is at the heart of what we do. We know that £1,000 can make a huge difference to the incredible work that charities do and we’re looking forward to seeing how this financial boost will change lives for the better.”
