New Building for the Future Special Press Day – Tues 21 Sep

An opportunity for members of press to get an advanced look at  the new £4m therapy wing and refurbishment at Rainbows

The wonderful new £4m therapy wing and refurbishment at Rainbows is now complete, thanks to public generosity and funding. We have something to shout about and so we are inviting you to join us on our special Press Day on Tuesday September 21 at 11.00am.

Our huge new building includes a hydrotherapy pool and state-of-the-art multi-sensory room amongst a long list of other rooms. Plus, all 14 bedrooms are either new or completely refurbished. We want everyone to see how it will work to enhance the shortened lives of our children and young people and make them as happy as possible. This represents a unique chance for you to see and talk to the children and their families who will be using our impressive new building and facilities, as well as interview members of staff. This is the first time the families will have seen inside the building!

There will be plenty of scope to form relationships and secure material for excellent features now and in the future.

In order to maintain our newly extended and enhanced Hospice for children for the East Midlands, Rainbows will need to raise £3.8 million a year through public donations.

We are the only children’s hospice serving the East Midlands region, taking in Leicestershire, Nottinghamshire, Derbyshire, and large parts of Northamptonshire and Lincolnshire, and we need to spread the word.

There is very little government funding available for childrens’ hospices, and Rainbows relies heavily on the generosity of fundraising members of the public and sponsorship.

On the Press Open Day, our Chief Executive will have a very important announcement to make, so we really hope you will be sending a representative from . A public open day will be held at Rainbows on the following Saturday, September 25, which we hope you will publicise for us too.
