Hundreds take on Rainbows walk

More than 500 people and dogs enjoyed the sunshine at the weekend and helped to raise thousands of pounds for Rainbows.

People came from all over the county to take part in our Walk of Life. At a brand new venue for this year, walkers completed a one, three or 10 mile route around Watermead Country Park. Families were also entertained with a children’s fairground, live entertainment, stalls and boat rides.

We hope the event will raise around £20,000. Katie Baxter, community and events manager at Rainbows, said: “As always, the Walk of Life was a fantastic event at this wonderful new venue. We would like to thank everyone who took part, all those who supported the walkers and all of our volunteers. As ever, your backing is invaluable and the Leicestershire community are always so supportive of Rainbows and our cause.

“We look forward to next year’s event and hope that you will join us.”
