Father pulls 10 tonne truck for Rainbows
An Ilkeston father who pulled a 10 tonne truck for 30 feet has raised over £1,000 for us.
Ashley Storer (29) is no stranger to working out but this monster challenge fuelled his strength to a whole new level.
The Footwear Buyer took part in the Truck Pull at the Shirebrook Classic Car Show in May. He has now presented £1,115 to our hospice.
Ashley said: “I did this event as a show of my strength and support that only reflects a fraction of what the families and staff, and most importantly the children and young people, show every single day at Rainbows. What Rainbows stands for is incredible and needs to be honoured. I’m glad I could show my support to a more than worthy cause.
“To raise money in such a unique way is only the beginning and I hope to raise enough to make a difference. I would like to thank everyone who has supported me including Sports Direct, which provided the truck. This was the first time I’ve ever done a charity event and I couldn’t think of a better cause. I can’t wait for the next bigger and heavier challenge.”
Rainbows Community Fundraiser Gary Farnfield added: “On behalf of everyone at Rainbows, I would like to thank Ashley for his incredible feat. We rely on donations to be able to keep the doors to our hospice open and provide much needed care for so many families. Without the support of fundraisers like Ashley, we simply wouldn’t be able to do so.”
