In September this year, the team from Timber POS – Lee “Hoy” Kingham, Nick “Wiggins” Corah and Trevor “Froome” Brookes set off from Leicester City centre, arriving 4 days later at the base of the Eiffel Tower (pictured). As motivation for covering almost 400 miles, the team had raised over £7,000, which they split between Rainbows and another local children’s charity, the Mia Moos Foundation.
Nick told us, “We decided back in November last year that we should do something for a children’s charity, and we’d been inspired by a friend who’d cycled from London to Paris. We hadn’t cycled for years, but in January we bought the bikes and started training. We were overwhelmed by the support we received in terms of donations from everyone and thankfully the weather was kind to us as well.”
A huge thanks from everyone at Rainbows to Lee, Nick and Trevor and their supporters for such a fantastic donation!
