Derby nursery raises hundreds for Rainbows
A Derby nursery has raised £640 for Rainbows at a Summer Fete.
Children at Oak House Nursery, Mickleover, have now presented the funds to our mascot Bow Bear.
The Summer Fete was held in July at the nursery in Station Road. Children, parents and staff all got involved with games, face painting, stalls and refreshments.
Nursery Manager Emily Waez said: “By fundraising, we are not only helping the families who benefit from the dedicated care of Rainbows, we are encouraging our nursery children to help others.
“Rainbow is a special charity to us because it’s helping children. We feel it is important to donate to such a worthy cause. Our parents at Oak House are so supportive with any charity events that we do.
“I would like to thank all of the staff and parents who supported us on the day, as well as all of the businesses that donated prizes.”
Nicola Richardson, Rainbows Community Fundraiser, added: “The children and staff at Oak House Nursery have raised money for us in the past and it is wonderful that they are choosing to support us again. We rely on our fundraisers to enable us to support so many babies, children and young people from Derbyshire.”
