The highlight of the Rainbows hospice events calendar, a spectacular night of fireworks fun for all the family takes place over Bonfire weekend – to raise money for youngsters with life-limiting conditions.
Rainbows Hospice for Children and Young People hosts its popular Bonfire Night celebration, ‘Pennies for the Guy’ at Leicester Racecourse on Saturday, 4 November, which features two breath-taking firework displays. And organisers hope the event will raise more than £80,000 to enable the charity maintain the highest levels of care for youngsters and their families when they need it most.
The ever popular children’s fireworks will be co-ordinated to Disney music and are sure to light up the faces of younger children, while the main display is once more set to wow Bonfire Night revellers. There’s also an exciting funfair for thrill seekers between 5.30pm and 10pm, with a variety of stalls, bars and food outlets onsite to enjoy.
And of course, all ‘pennies’ raised will go towards supporting youngsters and their families when they need it the most. But remember, remember…to book early to avoid disappointment, following last year’s sell-out success.
Vicki Brunt, Rainbows Event Fundraiser, said: “Our Bonfire Night event is a brilliant evening of family fun. And every penny we make will go towards supporting youngsters and their families who need our support. But we do urge people to book early to avoid disappointment.”
Gates and funfair open at 5:30pm, with the children’s fireworks display taking place at 7pm. Bonfire lighting is at 7.30pm with the main firework display starting at 8pm.
