Ahoy there mateys! Pirates wanted for Loughborough charity moon light walk
Rainbows arrrgh searching for men and women prepared to walk the plank and the streets of Loughborough for this year’s exciting pirate themed Loughborough Moonlight Walk.
The six mile sponsored walk around Loughborough takes place on Saturday 10th October. For the very first time, men are being invited to join the previously all female crew for a swashbuckling evening which begins at Loughborough Endowed School from 7pm.
The Jolly Rodger TLC Bus will be sailing the seas and accompanying walkers every step of the way, giving out bottles of ‘pirate grog’ to keep fundraisers on their feet. The event will also see the return of the infamous ‘wheelbarrow of wine’ and there’s even a pirate quiz to keep your brains as active as your feet!
Pirate fancy dress is optional, but there’s a treasure chest full of Harrods goodies for the best dressed individual and a night out at Bistro Live for the best team of up to six people.
Anyone over the age of 16 is welcome to take part. Registration costs just £12 and includes pirate grog when you arrive, a TLC Bus beverage and a midnight snack.
Over 200 people took part in last year’s event which raised over £10,000 for Rainbows.
Head of Community and Events, Katie Baxter said, “This event is a really fun way of supporting the hospice, spending time with the family and raising vital funds for Rainbows.
“With this year’s exciting pirate theme, we thought it’d be a shame not to let the men in on the fun. So, tell all of your friends and relatives and come and join us for what promises to be a fantastic evening.”
