This is an excellent opportunity to network and exchange insights on how businesses across the East Midlands are addressing their Corporate Social Responsibility goals, exploring the impact on both their organisation and the local community. We have three fantastic speakers lined up that will share their experiences with you and how CSR impacts their company, community and culture.

Our speakers for the event are as follows:
Jessie Walker – PR and Marketing Manager at KS Composites

KS Composites is independently owned, family run and will be celebrating 40 years in 2025.  The company is based near Melton Mowbray and specialises in the design and manufacture of advanced composite solutions for high-performance industries across motorsport, aerospace, automotive, theme etc.

Jessie’s role involves not only promoting the company’s expertise in advanced composite engineering but also highlighting its commitment to making a positive impact beyond the industry and in so doing help position KS Composites as a business that values giving back to the community.  Jessie plays a key role in raising awareness of their nominated charity’s vital work, amplifying fundraising efforts, and showcasing how the company’s values align with meaningful causes.

You will hear how these initiatives connect the KS Composites team, clients, and broader audience to the shared mission of helping Rainbows provide care and support for children and their families, demonstrating that engineering excellence goes hand in hand with social responsibility.

Jenn Platt – Project Manager at DHL H&G UK

Jenn started working for DHL 10 years ago, for one of their dedicated airlines, DHL Air (UK). She has since progressed into the role of project management, holding a European regional role for five years, before taking on her current role of Senior Manager Project Office for DHL Aviation Ltd.

During her time with DHL, Jenn has co-pioneered ‘As One Against Cancer’, a campaign that raises awareness of breast cancer and men’s health issues. The campaign has grown year on year and is now recognised as a global campaign within DHL, seeing colleagues fundraising and volunteering to help the cause. Jenn struck up a partnership with Rainbows which is ongoing and with which she is heavily involved.

During her presentation, Jenn will be discussing why corporate social responsibility is important at DHL,  introducing their ‘Wheel of Purpose’ and how it drives their strategy. She will be covering how DHL measures success, and how putting a focus on volunteering and direct interaction with charities can increase staff engagement and inspire them to get involved.

Claire Knee – Global Community and Social Impact Lead at Ideagen

Ideagen are a global technology business with head quarters in Nottingham.  They deliver software solutions to regulated and high-compliance industries such as aviation, financial services, life sciences, healthcare and manufacturing.

During her presentation Claire will be sharing the journey Ideagen have embarked on with Rainbows over the past two years and some plans for their next two years of charity partnership after they were re-nominated as their Charity Partner.  She will highlight how they grew a community strategy with the vision of creating impact and what that means for their charity partnerships.  She will show how Rainbows has enabled them to grow volunteering and fundraising and achieve social impact through colleague engagement, sharing both strategic insight and examples of fun memorable things they have done as a team.
